Ansar Muhammad
Direct Support Professional
Hello, my name is Ansar Muhammad. It’s one of life’s goals to help those in need and be a guiding force in the development of key life skills. I’ve worked with youth in the past as a volunteer in high school and college; teaching kids how to read, helping them understand homework assignments as a teacher’s assistant. My passion to help others doesn’t end there; I plan to help those experiencing homelessness find rehabilitation, work, clothing, and food supplies.
A little about myself, I am a huge outdoor enthusiast with a vast array of hobbies. I have been able to discover the most beautiful landscapes in Oregon through kayaking, fishing, biking, hiking and more. On rainy and cold days, I spend my time playing competitive video games. I’m a very proud parent to two boys and spend as much time as I can with them in nature. I feel that whatever the lesson, it is best to teach in an environment that is engaging but also relaxing.
Over the course of our mentorship, I will develop a care plan in conjunction with the goals of each individual. I feel that a personalized plan based on the needs of an individual is the best way to teach new skills and develop healthy habits. I also feel it’s necessary to be very patient with someone who is struggling to learn new concepts; each individual’s needs and situation are unique to that person and should be treated as such.
