Corbin Richards

Hello, my name is Corbin Richards.
I was born in Nebraska, and I moved to Portland in December 2022. I also just recently graduated high school. I have a great sense of humor, and I enjoy making people laugh and smile. I am really passionate about helping others.
I enjoy playing video games and board games- Quelf and Clue are my favorite. Some of my favorite video games are the Assassin’s Creed games and Red Dead Redemption 2.  I also enjoy watching sports, mostly football, and cooking and reading. I mostly read fantasy books, my favorite series is Fablehaven by Brandon Mull. I do not play sports much, but when I do my favorite sport to play is soccer.
I also enjoy watching movies, whether it be in theaters or at home. My favorite movie genre is action/comedy, such as Hudson Hawk, Spiderman Across the Spider-Verse, and The Princess Bride. I love the outdoors, and am looking forward to going camping, kayaking and hiking and seeing the waterfalls the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
Some of my other interests are bowling, putt putt golfing, puzzles. I play social trivia, and I also enjoy going to trivia nights as much as possible.  I try to learn what I can. (Fun fact about myself, I hang on to useless knowledge!)
Two important values to me are loyalty and responsibility. I believe it is important to never disclose information learned in confidence. I strive to be loyal by doing my best to help build and protect the good reputation of others, and to not betray the trust of others. I also believe in the importance of following through on commitments I have made and to offer my help and support to others when it is needed. I strive to be responsible by completing tasks that I take on and ensuring I am performing the job to the best of my abilities.
I had the opportunity to display these values when I once sat on a youth committee where I was able to work with and interact with many diverse individuals. On this committee we helped foster unity by organizing fun activities such as picnics and game days.
I am excited to be working for Arise Mentors. I try to help others as much as I can. I plan to eventually go to college and study to become a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist. I feel this job is a great step towards that direction. I am looking forward to working with you, and helping you as you help me grow.
