Hello! I’m Mylo and I am a 26 year old trans man living in SE Portland with my lovely fiancé and our extremely affectionate cat named Mittens. I enjoy tending to my houseplants/indoor garden, scaping fish tanks, playing video games and table top games like The Sims, WoW, DND, and Magic the Gathering (though I’m still fairly new and learning!), and listening to music. I also enjoy being creative in various forms, whether it is painting on a canvas, sculpting, or coloring. I’m going to school for cosmetology and esthetics starting in Sept. 2025 and I plan to continue working with people who experience I/DD even after I have finished school because I find so much fulfillment in this type of work. I am a planner, and I make a lot of lists to make sure nothing is missed during my time with the people I care for. I am passionate about the people I support being treated fairly and with respect, and I am also very big on person-first language. You are not your disabilities, you have disabilities. There is a difference and I find that far too many people view people as what they experience, not who they are. My previous time working with individuals with I/DD include group home settings, one of which as a Lead DSP in a children’s home. I also have caregiving experience working with older individuals as well as older individuals who experience mental illness. I look forward to hearing from you and learning your unique story!
