Parker

Hello! My name is Parker (they/them) and I moved to Oregon from Maine in October 2025. I’ve loved the various activities that Portland has to offer so far, and I look forward to exploring more of those with anyone that I’m supporting here at ARISE Mentors!

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing from the University of Maine at Farmington and have spent the last 5 years working in children’s behavioral healthcare in Maine. My favorite clients to work with there were those that were on the older side where I could support them in figuring out the kind of person they were going to be.

Having grown up in New Jersey and spent the last fourteen years in Maine, I’m comfortable with any level of urban or rural environment. My hobbies include Dungeons and Dragons (which I’ve used to practice communication skills with clients), Magic the Gathering (social skills and vocabulary, such as “aqueduct”), writing (I’ve encouraged clients to write out what they’re feeling when they can’t vocalize it), and hiking (safety skills). I love animals and would have no problem working in a home with any and all kinds.

My favorite part of this line of work is seeing a positive impact on the lives of those I work with, and I hope to support you in seeing that positive impact soon!
